Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect information for our website visitors, shipper customers, and carrier partners.

Last updated May 27, 2026

1Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Value Transports LLC (“Value Transports,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information across our public website at www.valuetransports.com, our freight brokerage services, and the tools we provide to shipper customers, carrier partners, and the general public.

Carrier and vendor partners receive a separate, more detailed privacy notice and acceptable-use agreement when they are onboarded by invitation. Where that notice or a separately signed agreement covers the same subject as this policy, the more specific document controls.

2Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us:

  • Contact & inquiry data: name, business name, email, phone, freight needs, and any message content you submit through contact forms, quote requests, or email.
  • Shipment & brokerage data: origin, destination, commodity, weight, dimensions, accessorials, dates, and references you provide when requesting a quote or shipping with us.
  • Carrier & partner data: MC/DOT numbers, insurance certificates, W-9, banking instructions for settlement, and other documents we collect during partner onboarding.
  • Payment data: billing contact, invoice line items, and (through our payment processor) tokenized card or bank account details required to process payments. See Section 7 below for our Stripe Financial Connections disclosures.
  • Technical & usage data: IP address, browser metadata, session identifiers, page views, referrer, and security events. We use this for site performance, error monitoring, and abuse prevention.
  • Cookies & local storage: strictly necessary cookies for the site to function, plus optional preference cookies. We do not run third-party advertising cookies.

3How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to quote requests, sales inquiries, and support questions.
  • Operate freight brokerage services — tendering loads, generating BOLs and rate confirmations, tracking shipments, billing customers, and paying carrier partners.
  • Verify carrier authority, insurance, and compliance status using FMCSA and other industry data sources.
  • Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, double brokering, fraudulent banking changes, cargo theft, and other security risks.
  • Send transactional notifications (quote confirmations, load updates, document requests, invoice reminders, password reset).
  • Improve our website and services through aggregated, generally de-identified analytics, error monitoring, and performance tuning.
  • Maintain audit logs and business records as required by transportation, tax, and recordkeeping laws.

4How We Share Information

We share information only as necessary to run the business:

  • Customers and carriers on the same load: we share the shipment details, contact, tracking, BOL, and POD information needed to actually move freight between the parties involved.
  • Service providers / sub-processors: hosting and database providers, email delivery, document storage, analytics and error monitoring, payment processors, and identity providers — each bound to protect the data they process for us.
  • Compliance & risk data sources: FMCSA, DOT, insurance verification services, and fraud-detection providers used to verify or monitor carrier authority, insurance, and risk indicators.
  • Legal & regulatory: when required by law, subpoena, court order, audit, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Value Transports, our customers, our partners, or the public.
  • Corporate transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, or asset sale, with appropriate data-protection safeguards.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with unrelated third parties for their independent marketing.

5Data Retention

We retain information for as long as needed to operate the business, support our customer and partner relationships, comply with applicable transportation, tax, and recordkeeping laws, defend or pursue claims, and support audits. Operational records associated with shipments, billing, compliance, and security events are typically retained for the longer of (a) the period required by applicable law and (b) the period needed to defend or pursue a related claim. Some records may remain in archived or backup form after they are removed from active use.

6Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold, including encryption in transit, access controls, audit logging, rate limiting, anomaly detection on banking and credential changes, and vendor-management practices for our sub-processors. No system is perfectly secure, and you are responsible for protecting your own credentials and devices. Report any suspected security incident or unauthorized access to [email protected].

7Stripe Financial Connections & Payment Data

We use Stripe's Financial Connections product to let business customers and carrier partners securely link their bank accounts for ACH payments on freight brokerage invoices. We collect this data only with the user's explicit consent, granted through Stripe's Financial Connections authorization flow.

What we collect through Financial Connections:

  • Tokenized account and routing numbers — used to initiate ACH pay-ins and (where applicable) payouts on freight brokerage invoices. The tokenization is performed by Stripe; we do not store raw bank credentials.
  • Account ownership details — the name(s) and mailing address on the linked account, used to verify the account belongs to the customer or business making the payment and to mitigate fraud and impersonation.
  • Account balances (when enabled) — used only to reduce failed ACH transactions caused by insufficient funds before initiating a debit. Balances are never used for credit underwriting, creditworthiness scoring, or lending decisions.

What we do not do with this data:

  • We do not use Financial Connections data for lending, credit underwriting, or creditworthiness assessment.
  • We do not use it for financial management, portfolio tracking, or investment-tracking products.
  • We do not retrieve or use transaction-level data (merchant, line-item, or spend history).
  • We do not share Financial Connections data with unrelated third parties for their independent marketing or analytics.

Financial Connections data is stored only within the United States. Our users for this product are businesses (carriers, partners, and shipper customers), not individual consumers. You can revoke Stripe's permission to access a linked bank account at any time through Stripe or by emailing [email protected]. Revoking access does not affect payments already initiated.

8Third-Party Services

Our website and brokerage operations integrate with a number of third-party services, each governed by its own terms and privacy practices:

  • Stripe — payment processing, invoice collection, partner settlement, and Financial Connections.
  • Google Maps — address lookup, geocoding, and validation in quote and shipment workflows.
  • FMCSA data services — carrier authority, insurance, and safety record lookups.
  • Resend — transactional and workflow email delivery.
  • AWS S3 (or equivalent) — storage of uploaded files, documents, and generated assets.
  • Sentry — error tracking and performance monitoring.
  • Identity providers (Google, Microsoft, Apple OAuth) — authentication where enabled.

9Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies for authentication, session management, and security. We may also store limited browser preferences (such as theme) and collect server-side diagnostic data for performance monitoring and troubleshooting. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, and we do not track visitors across unrelated sites for advertising.

10Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Request deletion, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Request your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
  • Object to certain types of processing.

To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. If your data is processed through a customer or partner organization's account, you may need to direct the request to that organization first.

11Children's Privacy

Our website and services are intended for business use and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

12Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting a revised version on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Continued use of our website or services after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
